Licensing Overview

STHAN Music offers music licensing options for individuals, brands, agencies, production houses, broadcasters, digital creators and other approved projects. A license grants specific usage rights subject to the scope and conditions agreed for the relevant project.

1. Scope of License

The license provided by STHAN Music is limited to the specific track, project type, intended use, territory and duration agreed with the licensee. Any use outside the approved scope may require additional permission or a new license.

2. Rights Granted

Subject to the final licensing agreement and any applicable payment, STHAN Music may grant the licensee specific, limited rights to use the licensed music for the approved purpose.

• Rights may differ according to the type of license requested.
• Some uses may require separate master and composition permissions.
• Any rights not expressly granted remain reserved.

3. Ownership & Copyright

Copyright, ownership and related intellectual property rights in the music remain with STHAN Music and/or the respective rights holders, except where a separate written agreement states otherwise.

A license should not be interpreted as a transfer or assignment of ownership unless such transfer is expressly documented in writing.

4. Permitted Use

Licensed music may be used only for the project, platform, media, territory and purpose approved in the licensing agreement.

• Film, television, web series and OTT projects.
• Advertising, branded content and campaigns.
• Digital, social media and approved online platforms.
• Games, applications, events and other approved commercial uses.

5. Restrictions

Unless expressly permitted in writing, the licensee must not sell, redistribute, sublicense, upload or otherwise exploit the licensed music outside the approved usage.

• No unauthorized resale or redistribution of the music.
• No transfer of the license to another party without approval.
• No use beyond the approved project, platform or territory.
• No representation that the licensee owns the underlying copyright.

6. Territory & Duration

Each license may define a specific territory and validity period. Depending on the approved agreement, the license may apply to India, worldwide use, a defined country or another agreed region.

Duration may also be project-specific, including a fixed term or another period expressly stated in the licensing agreement.

7. Fees & Payment

Licensing fees, if applicable, are determined according to the requested use and the rights required for the project. Final pricing, taxes, payment terms and other commercial conditions should be confirmed before the license becomes effective.

8. Approval & Agreement

Submission of a licensing request does not itself constitute approval or grant permission to use the requested music. Usage rights become effective only after the relevant approval and completion of the final licensing agreement or written authorization.

9. Termination

A license may be suspended or terminated in accordance with the final licensing agreement, including where the agreed scope is exceeded, payment obligations are not fulfilled, or material terms are breached.
